Warm Hands

Yes, another knitting post. The first picture is of hand warmers I have had my eye on for some time now but was too chicken to do. I’ve never tried knitting in the round with double pointed needles. It always looked overwhelming and confusing. I have finally decided to give it a try, and the end result wasn’t bad at all!

The next pictures are of mittens I did for my daughter early on in the year to match her hat and pooh bear coat. They remind me of bumblebees which is rather appropriate to match a Pooh coat.

Oh, and my daughter isn’t feeling well in this picture so that would be why she looks a bit strange.

  1. Great fingerless gloves! Are they ‘fetching’ from knitty.com? If they are, I have been wanting to knit them ever since I saw them! Still working up the nerve to try knitting on dpns…

  2. Yes, that is exactly what they are. This was my first try with dpns as well, there were great resources online to help me get started. I really needed the visuals. Starting was the hardest part, I restarted 3 times, (mostly because my daughter has a thing for pulling my knitting off the needles) but once I got started it went SO quickly! The hardest part was “thinking out of the box” enough to get started.

I have an uncompleted project I am determined to finish and then I am determined to try socks!

  3. What’s funny is that I thought the picture of your daughter made her look like a model – lying there all relaxed and chill, too cool to smile… =] I love the fingerless gloves, btw. I’ve gotten really into the glove/mitten-pull-over things that have the fingers cut out. Basically, I like having my fingers available at any given time… But I don’t knit, alas. Ok, I’ll quit rambling!
