Today I received an email at work sent to the entire department:
“Hello,
Yesterday i lost a silver watch with multicolored jewels on it at the *building name removed* or around the outside of the building walking to the street. if anyone has seen it i would like it back. ”
Is this how you ask? No “please” or “Thank you?” How about “if anyone has seen it I’d be grateful if you could let me know.” If I had found it I would be scared she was going to accuse me of something!
Personally I would just put it in a box, wrap it up, and put it on their desk with a note “You should write a thank you to everyone now.”
By the way this is Pam’s F
Hey F! Good to see you here!
Sounds like a great idea…..if I did have it. I haven’t been anywhere near the building. It just sounded like a strange way to get people to return an item that someone lost to me!
Sounds a bit threatening to me … specially the ” if anyone has seen it i would like it back.”..
I don’t think she will get it back .. 😛
