Rolling 10 Pan update 1

Hi all! I am one month in on a rolling 10 pan project and ready to give you all an update. Just to reiterate, the hope this time around is to choose products from different categories to use up. Ideally if I am not doubling the categories I’ll make more progress. But not sure if that goal is actually going to hold this time around. I’ll explain more later.

Here’s what I started with:

  1.  Haircare
    1. Diva Curl Shampoo
  2. Cleanser
    1. Trader Joe’s
  3. Foundations
    1. Urban Decay All Nighter
  4. Concealers
    1. Maybelline age rewind
  5. Bronzer/Contour
    1. Wet n Wild contour palette (Doubles as powder, so I won’t choose a powder this round)
  6. Lipstick
    1. Maybelline nude matte lipstick
  7. Perfume
    1. Gucci Eau de parfum II (Get halfway through this product)
  8. Eyeliners
    1. Jonteblu charcoal colored eyeliner
  9. Miscellaneous items
    1. Becca Undereye Primer
  10. Eyeshadow Palettes
    1. Nyx Happy Birthday Palette (Pan just one color.)

Here’s where I am now:

I think it’ll be tough to see the progress on the perfume, it’s minimal even though both Miss Butterfly and I used it quite regularly. The trouble likely is that it’s such a wide bottle that even though we are making decent progress, the progress is never going to show.

I can’t use the shampoo regularly, I just have to fit it in when I can. My scalp doesn’t like it. So it gets used, but interspersed with shampoos I prefer. I didn’t use the age rewind concealer as much as I could have, as I tend to prefer it with lighter foundations, and while I am trying to pan the Urban Decay All Nighter, I don’t pair it with the age rewind. The cleanser progress was decent, and while I thought that the foundation progress was going to be less than usual, it’s actually pretty on par with what I’ve managed each month.

The Becca undereye primer has a lot of progress including some side pan, even though I regularly forget to use it. The wet n wild contour palette has had great progress, and you can even see that while I’d marked a corner section in, that corner section fell out while I was photographing it. I only have a tiny amount of lipstick left, I used about a quarter inch of product last month. And finally, I threw in my jontebleu eyeliner but didn’t bother to show progress.

Here’s the thing, that eyeliner is awful, and I am not going to keep using it. It’s getting trashed. It should not hurt to put eyeliner on your eyes. And this hurts to get any color at all. So that’s being rolled out.

You may also notice I didn’t photograph the one eyeshadow I had decided to use as a base. Here’s why. I did use it, but then I realized that there was a decent base color in the pan the palette project and I wanted to concentrate on that instead. I’ll roll that nyx eyeshadow out this next round.

What am I rolling in?

These are two products from my Mary Kay satin hands kit. With the fall weather coming on, and with me doing so many dishes due to lack of dishwasher, my hands are starting to get really dry. I don’t want to use these products up so much as I really want to actually use them. I like the kit so much that I tend to not use it because I want to “save” it. We all know how that ends up, it generally means we’ll let it go bad before getting our money’s worth. I don’t want that to happen here. These are already closing in on two years old. So, new list:

  1. Foundations
    1. Urban Decay All Nighter
  2. Concealers
    1. Maybelline age rewind
  3. Bronzer/Contour
    1. Wet n Wild contour palette (Doubles as powder, so I won’t choose a powder this round)
  4. Lipstick
    1. Maybelline nude matte lipstick
  5. Perfume
    1. Gucci Eau de parfum II (Get halfway through this product)
  6.  Haircare
    1. Diva Curl Shampoo
  7. Cleanser
    1. Trader Joe’s
  8. Miscellaneous items
    1. Becca Undereye Primer
  9. Body Care
    1. Mary Kay Satin Hands

I am feeling pretty good about a couple of the products and I think that next month will be a great update. I feel confident that I’ll be able to FINALLY finish up the foundation, cleanser, and lipstick. I think it’s likely I won’t change up the categories for those three and I’ll just throw in three more of those same categories to work on. It’ll be pleasant to choose some new products! And once I use up that foundation, I’ll start making better progress on my age rewind concealer as well.

That’s it from here, until next month…
