I’ve spent some time reorganizing my vanity recently. And, in doing so, I decided that the one thing I do not need to keep anymore is nail polish. I just do not do my nails. I decided that on the special occasions I want my nails done, I’ll get them done at a salon. But, that’s like maybe once a year? Or less. This is just not something I need in my life. So, during my vanity reorganization, I choose to declutter all the nail polish items and give them to Miss Butterfly. She was happy to receive them.
In my last beauty balance post, I had 40 items leaving my collection over what entered into it. With the nail polish declutter I have 51 leaving.
I am not going to go into any detail about these polishes. I like all of them, they are all pretty, I like wearing them. But I don’t paint my nails and I haven’t in more than a year. When I first started using makeup in 2018, I did paint my nails frequently. But, I just don’t like doing it that much. It’s not a creative thrill.
I do have to actually do a little balance though, as I picked up some hair products in the ulta hair event. I also picked up a blush.
Some of the hair items were freebies and some I purchased fair and square but half price. I was running out of many items and my hope during the hair events is always to purchase what I need to get me through the next hair event. So, I hope I have done so, though there’s one more day in which I’ll pick up some powder texturizer, I just need to wait for the sale.
Miss Butterfly and I also spent a little time discussing what drugstore brand we might like to explore a few items from. We decided Milani was on our list, and so this time I picked up the iconic Milani Luminoso blush. I haven’t tried it yet, but I am looking forward to it.
This brings me back down to 44 items leaving my collection over what entered it. And that’s where we stand for May. I’ll be back with another post after June 10 and my project pan posts are up.
I decluttered all of my nail polish last year to my daughter as well. I have nail strips for when I feel like doing my nails. I usually don’t. I might buy some press on nails as those are easier than the polish strips. I like to have pretty nails, but I don’t have the time to paint them. I might try a 60 second dry polish again, but I find those are only true for the 1st coat and the 2nd takes longer to dry. I have an active toddler, so I can’t wait around for my nails to dry. I might try the polish strips this weekend. We shall see.
glad these have been rehomed rather than binned! I love having a selective beauty swap like this with friends to reduce waste and clutter!
I have been fortunate to have plenty of teens in my life who are always thrilled to get that which I have decided I am ready to part with.
