The hat from the yarn in the previous post where my husband kindly worked through the mess the dog had made of it is finished.
It’s the Sock Head Hat, and I love it so much! I love the gentle colors, I love how large and slouchy it is, and I loved loved loved working with the yarn. Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks That Rock remain some of the nicest roundest yarn I’ve ever worked with even many years after I discovered it.
I started this with the largest ball of yarn remaining from the mess. I used the russian join to join the next largest ball of yarn once I ran out of the largest ball. I continued to do careful russian joins for each new piece of yarn I connected. Thankfully, I think I only ended up using a total of 5 or 6 joins before I was done. I have a lot of pieces left over that went in my scrap bin.
Once finished, I immediately put it on my head in the house and wore it for the rest of the evening. I am thrilled with it.
So thrilled that I wound another ball of BMFA Socks that Rock and cast on another. More on that later.
This brings me to 93% of my goal of 40 projects completed this year.
It looks great – he saved the day! And then you made a lovely hat out of it 🙂

It’s great! No wonder you were upset by the near destruction!
